Singer/songwriter Smruti Jalpur grew up in the much-touted City of Dreams, Mumbai. And being a musician was her dream for as long as she could remember. Being self-taught, Smruti took some steps to strengthen her vocal techniques and have a better understanding of the art form.

Her journey led to the discovery of her musical and songwriting influences, mostly celebrated artists from the 50’s through the 90s.
Her songs reflect her personal experiences and engagement with the universe, both in fictional and non-fictional ways; she often borrows sounds from the era she wished she could have experienced firsthand.

Apart from writing and composing songs, Smruti also finds joy in teaching music, she is currently working with The Goa Jazz Academy, one of the renowned music school in Goa, India, as the voice faculty.
